Bangkok Trip 1st ~6th June 2008

1st June: First Trip in life begin!

I fly to there at night

Woh~ finally arrived Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport
-arrived around 10.30pm (local time)

simple metal geometric structure + blue light = nice airport

RM100 for 5 nights = No air-cond, no hot shower = Guest House where I stayed
-nearby backpackers’ hot spot, Khao San Road, NAT II guesthouse -it was almost 12pm when I found this place to sleep

2nd of June: Whole west part of Bangkok

First day, hanging around with my own legs early morning in Bangkok.

Very Tall !!!! Thailand style KL tower in Wat Intharavihan

This monk ....I thought he was dead while he was sitting there without any movement during a ceremony.

That’s a lot of Wat I visited the first day. (Wat same as the word in‘Angkor Wat’, that’s mean temple)

I this one the most.......Other’s are mostly the same. See the highest peak? That’s where they keep the Buddha Sacred Relics, in Chinese = 舍利子

This is how it looked like inside, blocked by a gate, can't touch it.
Somemore, when you climb up to this level, there is a notice board that asking you to pray in Thai scripture….

This Wat Loha Prasat is really beautiful to look at in any angle, Loha Prasat means Metal Tower Temple, it is the only one left in this world.

Hey, man!!!

I saw a funeral of a “BIG PERSON” , a military general in the lucky Buddha temple…. It make me feel like sinking in the sea of flower, these pictures are only a very small part of it….

You can find out this kind of scene everywhere in Bangkok.

My eyes cannot stop from looking around this few days:

This is really what we so called ‘red-light’ zone.

PAS + Barisan National = ???

California Gym’s commercial on Bangkok Billboard.

Found this in Khao San Road , very huge board.

Seems like they are encouraging under-age to take liquor oh!

That’s a lot of red light entertainment shop that serving Japanese in Patphong Road.

Do you understand what the cute logo means?

Foods that I took for the 6days Trip :

Foods that I taken from 2nd~5th June

3rd of June: Damnoen Saduek Floating Market + Night Marketing

Heading to Floating Market

1 of them smiling to me, another 1 seemed wanting to bite me ! Help~

Lelong ~ Lelong~ Lelong….

Floating Market really ‘float’

Most of the nicely dressed tourist are from either Taiwan or Mainland China

Travel Tips : Travel Guide? Look for “lonely planet” unless you can read Japanese (Japanese’s travel guide is cheap and comprehensive)

Nakajima Hiromasa 中岛宏昌 ,Tokyo . His handphone was equipped with dictionary function, that’s the way we communicate with each other.

Neda Mogane From French, He work in railway company. He said that if I travel in Europe next time, he can buy me a free train ticket to go around Europe.

We have a wonderful time in the morning of floating market…
-don’t be mistaken, I’m not having a big tummy but it is the safety purse that I keep inside my shirt that is making such an illusion.

Xiao Li 王筱莉 (left)and her friend, Taipei. 4th year student of Information Management

We met in the van back to Khao San road from Floating Market, and they asked me to be their guide in Khao San.

Grand Place is really grand

Travel Tips: bring a cap, make you cool.

Some Bangkok people live by the Chao Phraya riverside. We took a motor boat to visit along the river looking them around , or they looking at us around?

People demonstrated peacefully that night, the peace-minded thai made it looked like a carnival more than a demonstration in Royal Square. Thaksin , Thai's ex-prime minister arrived about 9pm.

Thirsty night? Liquor stall along the roadside.

Nice beer, nice bracelet and nice girl……..

4TH of June : Ayutthaya + Night Marketing

Mochit Bus Station in Bangkok

Old Mercedes Bus that was still able to send me to Ayutthaya safely.

The way people buy petrol is like buying coca-cola.

First Wat I visited in Ayutthaya.

The best way to taste the whole old capital of Thai, Ayutthaya---- Cycling !!!!

This scene really gave me a little shock that time!

Daisuke Motoyama 大辅元山,Kyoto. We traveled around the Ayutthaya by cycling together the whole day.

Yam Seng~

Ayutthaya is such a peace and quiet place.

Hanging around markets nearby Silom station.
Thirsty, bought a Sprite from TOPS supermarket.

Joon Lōfstrōm, Swede, a Korean that born and grew up in Sweden. Worked in a ski resort before the vacation. 3~4 days in Bangkok then heading to Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar……

I’m so pro after few days in Bangkok. I met him on the way to Wat Saket (Golden Mount), and I already able to become his tour guide few hours in west part of Bangkok.

“ Sure, I will ! If I come to Europe next time,I will surely stay in your house. So do you when you come to Malaysia one day, k?”

Even the traffic jam also looks more colourful than K.L city.

Bukit Bintang of Bangkok!!!! I was practising no-money style one day shopping trip....

Buddha in front of Isetan Shopping Mall. 伊势丹佛???

People bought roses to pray for this god of love……
No more money to buy roses, so I’m still a ma lat lou back from Thailand.

Students still need to wear uniform even they are in universities or colleges.

Travel Tips: Always stand nearer to a cuter one when you taking your photo.

My flight is at 10am tomorrow.

I bought a bus ticket that departing at 6am in Khao San Road.

I did so to arrive at the airport few hours earlier because I was afraid if I missed the flight at 10am then I can’t go back to Malaysia anymore = no more money to buy a new flight ticket + no Malaysian ambassador available in the map of Bangkok……….

“If the bad thing really happen, who can I ask for help?”
“Thai Police who can only speak in thai?”
“Singapore Ambassador?”
“Or beg for some money by sitting beside the road to make an IDD call to my mum?”
“………..”

I think I really didn’t sleep the whole night.

6th of June: Going Back

Hehe…. I arrived in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport finally….. yeah~

This is all what I had when I stepped in airport, 12 thai bhat = RM1.20

Hanging around inside airport for few hours

Looking around the airport………

Amiruddin Nagri, India. An I.T expert of the ThoughtWork Co.
I saw him keep on doing revision by his calculator in the airport.
He will be taking the international CFA exam in Bangkok on 8th June.
Good luck to you :-)

The few hours I spent with him, giving him a clearer picture of Bangkok. I think i can consider be a tour guide besides a lawyer, businessman or farmer......

Checked in….. In the duty free zone now…..

Sushi bar in front of Hermes….

Conclusion:
Money Spent : RM 270 for flight + RM700 fooling around Bangkok (I can to reduce this to 450 next time, after i familiarize myself with all the bus, taxi, MRT, SkyBus and express boat routes)
